Marriage

The ultimate step in domestication is Marriage. When I got divorced from my first husband I swore up and down that I would never get married again and I would just live life single dating who I wanted when I wanted. Coming and going as I pleased. Seemed fine and dandy at the time. As time went on I realized it was not a realistic approach to life for me. I then decided if I was dating someone that I felt there would not be a future with I would no longer date them. When I started investigating The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the missionaries brought up the idea of burning stuff from my past that I really didn't need. This included stuff from my ex-husband.  When I burned that stuff it set me free, it was closure on a relationship that was still getting in the way of my future relationships. I really can not describe the freedom and release I felt I knew I was truly ready to find my eternal companion.
I however did not know how the journey of finding my companion would play out. The missionaries that taught me and baptized me were moved to another area not too long after Christmas. I kept in contact with one of them as friends and when he was honorably released from his mission we decided to try dating. It was a little difficult since he lived in Utah and I live in Tennessee. Well on May 10 I went to my friends house because she asked me to come watch the kids or something. When I got there I noticed I was being recorded but didn't know why. Then Lyal said hi. He had driven 26 hours straight to surprise me!!
So for a while we dated and he stayed at our friends house. On May 20 he called my dad and asked for my hand in marriage and later that night proposed :)!!

I said yes so on June 3, 2012 we got married. The ceremony was conducted by Bishop Phillips at our church. We didn't tell anyone we were getting married that day until we were grabbing them to come in. We want to have the celebration be around the day we will be sealed for time and eternity. January 3, 2013 we will do this in the Salt Lake Temple.
Families are Forever and I am happy to have found my eternal companion!
